Ideas for contents of a hamper as xmas pressies - not too much ££

Thought it would be a good idea to make up little hampers for some pressies. Nice chutneys, chocs etc. But looks as if the cost is spiralling - any cheapie ideas or places to source nice chutneys etc?

Lidl have great choccies which are very good quality and cheap. Not sure about the chutneys - perhaps a local shop rather than a supermarket?

I picked up a couple of local shop ones - but they were almost £5 each - and my other local shop - they were nearer £10!

Could you make your own chutney? I made some and it was surprisingly easy. It was spiced apple chutney off the BBC website and not too much £££. It depends though whether you are making it for quite a few people or not - economies of scale and all that but surely cheaper than £10 a jar. Could you bake flapjack to go in? It keeps OK and is fairly cheap to make. Asda have little round cheeses for £1. Then maybe you could put in oatcakes or crackers or whatever.
