I thought Swarovski did stars each year?

But this year there seems to be a s*dding snowflake! I wanted to get one for DDs frst christmas but her name doesn't mean "snowflake" so that's no use whatsoever.

link please...

RickmanAroundTheXmasTree · 08/12/2006 11:35

Ooh I like those stars. Wasn't it you SD who had a vast inheritance to spend and that was somebody's suggestion. I also went out and bought one, but have never bought another. I did however go out and buy every snowflake/star christmas decoration known to man and I have them pinned up all over the ceiling at christmas. It looks lovely!

belgo · 08/12/2006 11:40

here

I think this is a link to the stars, it's in french though so might not be helpful

MascaraOHara · 08/12/2006 11:42

I really like that.

Do they do stars for tops of christmas trees I wonder..

MascaraOHara · 08/12/2006 11:45

I found one, it's gorgeous.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 08/12/2006 11:52

Yes, I did see the little ones but I thought they had the year on them. this is the 2006 snowflake. It has alittle silver tag with the year on it. But it's not a star. Sob!

(no Rickman, I've never had alarge inheritance unfortunately. Or fortunately, dpending how youlook at it I guess)

When I say "they", I mean the ones I was thinking of had a year on them like the snowflake.

So, do I buy the meaningless snowflake which nonetheless has the year on it or a more meaningful small star with no year?? I'd kind of planned to buy her one every year but I'm disappointed now and sulking

OP posts:
MascaraOHara · 08/12/2006 11:57

I hate it when that happens.. I set my heart on something and then it goes a bit wrong. I'm a sulker.

Is there anywhere else that do anything similar?

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 08/12/2006 12:01

I don't think so. These are just gorgeous (and I want to hang them on my tree until she has a tree of her own )

Buy her the star. They are just beautiful.

PortAndLemonaid · 08/12/2006 12:24

I'd buy her the star and get a jeweller to make you a little silver tag with the date on it (as you're commissioning it you could add her name) that you can attach to the ribbon yourself -- not the same as the built-in tag, but still lovely.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 08/12/2006 12:33

The snowflake is beautiful too (and much larger!)... I'll have to go and stare at them in the Swarovski shop again.

It wasn't a huge inheritance, only a small amount. I'm obviously thinking of someone else. Will have to go and find the thread now.

RickmanAroundTheXmasTree · 08/12/2006 13:12

Found it! It was WWW, although you are on that thread SD.

Buy her a star... and go do big dragon eyes at your cousin to do one small last thing?
