Mooncup and mirena coil

I THINK i've got my first AF since having the mirena coil. I'm ratty, nasty,spotty etc

I just wondered if anyone else has the mirena and mooncup etc

I've just inserted mooncup for the first time and don't know how to check seal etc ( i have v long nails which I WILL NOT part with and don't know much else to be honest, not had AF for 9 month due to injections.

pmsl at deckthehalls. I use both and have never really worried about it. this might be tmi but I can sort of run my finger round the outside of of the mooncup, which serves to check that its popped out into a circular shape and then that's it. the mirena doesn't really come into it. as it were.

thank you. i'll stick with it. If you don't mind, what do you find the best way to sterilise it?

hmmmm. I think the instructions say to boil it. but, seeing as pre-mirena I used to use a cap, and you're not told to sterilise that - just to wash it thoroughly - I have to confess I haven't bothered with the mooncup. someone else on here said they didn't bother either. I hope that's not too yucky. I haven't had it for long, maybe every now and then I'll chuck it in some boiling water
