DS aged 7 would like a Hornby train set - where do I start?

Have looked on various sites, there are so many to choose from. Which set is best to start with?

Depends how much you want to spend. Last year we got ds (6 then) a Hornby Eurostar which was a huge success. Have just ordered some more bits from here although the Eurostar is no cheaper than John Lewis.
Woolworths do some cheaper tracks & engines, but not the most popular like the Flying Scotsman,

I would start with the woolworths set at £39.99. You can barely buy a train for that!
