What Group1 carseat fits old Polo - Help Please!

I really want a Maxi Cosi Tobi and have a N reg (1996?) 3 door Polo.

Halfords says it fits, John Lewis say no. Maxi Cosi website says unknown...

Anyone else got an old Polo? What kind of seat do you have? Need to get something soon as ds's head is almost popping out of his baby car seat...

can u not go into halfords / mother care and try it out for your self?

I had a Britax First Class in my Polo (X reg) fitted by Motehrcare, have just changed to a Britax Evolva.

Thanks for the posts - I was at John Lewis today.

We thought the MC Priori XP was a winner but once ds was in it the base started to wiggle about too much.

We couldn't get the Tobi to be solid either.

But when Halford's fitted them in my car they managed to get a good solid fit.

Will try somewhere else this week but wanted a few ideas where to start - I had my heart set on the Tobi....
