Can you recommend a waterproof mascara?!

Hello ladies

Thought I'd treat myself to a waterproof mascara for my hols. Can anyone recommend a good one for contact lens wearers that comes off fairly easily and isn't too thick and gunky?

Cheers

Jenny

I'm going to Kos with Mark Warner on 9 June - and I can't wait!! It's our first MW holiday(and probably our last unless we win the lottery ) but having heard such good feedback about the company we decided to treat ourselves after months of diy-ing and before DD2 arrives at the end of August!

I intend to spend many hours lying on the sun lounger with a few good books. I thought a little waterproof mascara may help me feel slightly better as no doubt I'll be feeling like a beached whale!

Lancome acquasils

nightowl · 14/05/2004 23:06

ooh Kos, ive been there, its lovely and all the little islands around there are beautiful. Sigh....wish i was going! have a lovely time

princesspeahead · 15/05/2004 00:44

Lancome mascaras are the best. If you really want waterproof then aquacils, but I find that both Definicils and Keracils are excellent, don't give you panda eyes when either wet or just rubbed off, and don't flake/irritate contact lenses...

polly28 · 16/05/2004 00:22

ditto pph, lancome mascara is fantastic,i have bad hayfever hence itchy/watery eyes and definncils is better than any other waterproof I've tried.I have a drawer full of unwanted waterproof ones.

Furball · 16/05/2004 13:47

Why don't you treat yourself and have them dyed it costs about £5 or £10 and lasts about 6-8 weeks, but well worth it for a mascara splodge free holiday.

motherinferior · 16/05/2004 17:43

ANother vote for lash dyeing here.

coddycodcod · 16/05/2004 17:59

yes I have had the waterproof one but like the squared shaped one ? definicils?

princesspeahead · 16/05/2004 18:11

definicils certainly the best, especially if you hnave contact lenses, I agree.

Well I went and bought a Rimmel w.mascara which is okay, should have waited longer for more replies! However, eyelash tinting is a really good idea....might book myself in when I go and get the dreaded bikini wax (don't do pain well )

obviously i have failed again

nightowl · 17/05/2004 23:41

sorry! that should have had a smiley at the end!!

NottsMum · 20/05/2004 17:28

No need to apologise Nightowl! It was only £4.50 the reason I said it's only okay is that it doesn't give me luscious looking lashes!!

crystaltips · 23/05/2004 20:17

I swear by this : max Factor - AquaLash
And it's cheap!

popsycal · 23/05/2004 20:18

maybelline waterproof is NOT waterproof
not toally anyway
runs very slightly

NottsMum · 24/05/2004 23:16

Cristaltips - think you've just persuaded me to make another trip to Boots

Now I really must go and get some shut eye. My DH can't believe how often I visit this site....
