Lego compatability question!

DS has some Lego Star Wars kits. Is into building his own space ships with them. Am contemplating getting him some of the normal age 4+ Lego too - DH is worried they are not compatible.

Anyone know???

It is compatible. DS has just one star wars kit - jedi star fighter, I think. But absolutely tons of other stuff - pirate ship, police speed boat, ambulance, ordinary bricks, DH's ordinary bricks from the 70s etc, and the star wars ones is compatible with them all.

they are the same size. My ds is into the same and has a few star wars ones and a box full of other lego. Probably not agood idea to confuse pieces though as the star wars ones obviously make something rather than being just a brick.

Oh ours is all mixed up. I have suggested to DH that we sort it but he poo poos the idea. DS spends most of the time making his own creations, although he can follow the instructions for the simpler models.

Thanks for that.

Hadn't thought about mixing them up TBH! God - yet another thing to think about!

My house is a mess pretty much but I am pretty good at making sure we have lidded boxes for enything with bits. Have a train box, dinotracks box, duplo box, power rangers box and a star wars box. Suppose will just have to get a normal lego box amd make sure I sort regularly. (It't the type of thing I would do rather than housework!!!)
