Problems I'd like to sort with my kindle

I have several

  1. I'd like to sort my books using my computer rather than on the Kindle

  2. When buying books I'd rather not have them list books I have already bought (or have that as an option) I've been buying books for years & I really can't always remember from the title if I've read it.

  3. When buying books I'd rather not have a load of foreign books too (or have that as an option)

  4. I'd quite like a running total of how much I've spent since XX date or the middle of the month

I guess that makes me really picky and quite sad Blush

Not at all. I'm with you on those!

Katymac · 09/09/2015 21:04

I know how to sort the books on my kindle into collections, but I want them to then disappear off the main screen so I'm only left with the book I'm currently reading.

At the moment, they go into the collection folders, but also stay on the main screen.

Katymac · 09/09/2015 21:10

Off the kindle into to the cloud or just not displayed because the collections are?

I think you have to change the sort order to 'Collections' rather than Author/Title/Recent to just see the collections

If you don't want to see the collections you can store them on the cloud

Wait, you can sort books? How does one do that please?

Littlefish · 09/09/2015 21:26

I just want to see the collection folders and any books I haven't read yet (and therefore, haven't sorted).

W00t · 09/09/2015 21:27

um, well that may have been a pointless x-post by me there...

But- you have folders?

Littlefish · 09/09/2015 21:32

I think (but I'm doing this from memory), you press and hold on the cover of a book and a list of possible actions pops up. There is something to do with adding to collections on the list. I can't remember how to create a collection, but I'll have a look later.

Katymac · 09/09/2015 21:38

Yes so you press/select the little bit that says either Title/Author/Recent in the top right (but second line) & choose collections - I think, Maybe LittleFish

What sort of Kindle do you have W00t?

OP posts:
Katymac · 09/09/2015 21:39

You create a collection by pressing the three lines at the very top right and choose 'Create New Collection'

I have a ?paperlight I think. It has 'paper' in the title anyway.

W00t · 09/09/2015 22:01

So you group your books into collections? That sounds like a good idea now I have more books on there.
Thanks.

Katymac · 09/09/2015 22:05

It's great; but now I am over 3,000 books I'd like to sort them properly using several open windows and get them nicely catalogued but on the Kindle it's too confined

How about method 2 here?

Redglitter · 05/10/2015 22:43

I've got about 900 books on mine all in folders. I hate having them just listed together. I like my collections
