I have only boys and I would like to get her something she would really like but just don't know what girls of her age group are in to. Asked a similar question on here last time she visited and a few people recommended a sticker machine which went down really well - so any more good ideas would be appreciated. (Should add her parents are not that keen on her being too girly so I have to steer clear of Barbie etc).

Is she into ponies? silly question, all 6.5 year olds are IME. there is a series of pony related toys called "grand champions" you can get in toysrus etc - mummy pony, foal and a couple of show jumps and tack for eg (realistic looking, not mylittlepony-ish.

Otherwise my 6 yo is really enjoying Junior Cluedo at the moment if you want something gender-neutral...

Thanks a lot for the suggestions - I will look into both. Junior Cluedo might be the thing for a couple of other children I need to get presents for also

My 6.5yo is not particularly girly. She likes anything to do with bugs and small animals. Bug collecting kits, ant and worm farms, go down very well. Also small animal play sets (vet and animal hospital things). She also likes Geomag a lot. And anything you have to construct or make into models - make your own post office or nativity set from a kit sort of things. Playmobile and lego are always played with too.

ou ou ouhhhhhh, I've got one - Disney store - 10quid, a Cinderella or Little Mermaid camera with photo album and stickers and glitter glue etc. FAB.

My 6yo Dd loves reading. Favourites are Horrid Henry books ( not girly!). She also enjoys her adventure box magazine . she was given a subscription for her birthday last year

Oxfam, £5.99, disposable camera with "winter photo journal". For the non-disney disposable camera option.

Clarice Bean is good for this age group too (and Horrid Henry, and Narnia stuff (my dd likes the battle scenes best)).

Some great suggestions here - thanks everyone - I am sure I can find something suitable (and bank a few for her birthday in feb!).
