Yeah, I deserve some, I'm pregs and my feet are swollen so I bet they are comfy.

There was this thing on the radio the other day about the "I deserve it culture" - that woman who got herself into a lot of credit c debt and then put up a website to ask for donations Vs someone who never bought anything they didn't have the cash for, arguing about how culture has changed. It really made me think. Sometimes getting tot he end of a hard week I do think " I deserve this and my kids deserve that" even its its only a nice tea and a small toy......

am rambling, will shut up

michellefromlakeland · 11/05/2004 18:40

where ar e the wedges? not those stripey ones?

lou33 · 11/05/2004 19:36

I want a pair of their wedges too.

Piffleoffagus · 11/05/2004 19:41

ever since ds any kind of a heel (except prada kitten heeled boots) bring out my sciatica.
Am queen of the Birkenstock, then some flashy cow named VB made them fashionable so now I look like a wannabe trendy bird.
Can;t hear too much against M+S, when we were discussing moving back to NZ, M+S was top of my reasons not to go, before family LOL

I'm with Jaybee - I was there on Saturday trying to find cute matching outfits for DSs for a wedding - bloody David Beckham everywhere. I complained to the sales assistant and told her I was off to Gap "Don't blame you" she said...

OxfordBaby · 11/05/2004 19:56

I saw the cork wedges they were lovely, but as usual with Marks, they had sold out, anything nice just sells out, they don't seem to get it...and order in more of the trendier styles...and size 10 is always sold out, I don't bother anymore it's too frustrating. Foods ok though and flowers are lovely.

Nimme · 11/05/2004 20:10

HOW do they decide on which days to sell the chicken caeser roll and WHY do I want it on the days they dont!!!

Bozza · 11/05/2004 20:23

Bit contraversial but I don't get this thing that you lot have with M & S TBH. To me its where my Mum buys her clothes and my late Grandma did. Also its expensive and there are rails of dull clothes to wade through. Have not bought anything (clotheswise) there since before I got married (6 years ago on Sunday).

Tissy · 11/05/2004 20:30

Bozza are you a Top Shop Girl, or Miss Selfridge? We're all way too old!

Bozza · 11/05/2004 20:33

No I'm 31 - not that young and certainly not young enough for Top Shop or Miss S. More Next, Gap, H&M - that kind of thing.

suedonim · 11/05/2004 20:59

Coddie, can you also ask M&S to have more than three types of sandwich in their cafes? All they have in ours are egg-and-tom, chicken salad or a selection pack, and I'm sick of them.

lou33 · 11/05/2004 21:00

I don't uusally buy from M & S, I just like the wedges!

Chinchilla · 11/05/2004 21:51

And why is all the food in their cafe so damned expensive???

Piffleoffagus · 11/05/2004 22:08

cheaper than mcd's and damn sight tastier ...

katierocket · 12/05/2004 09:41

OH MY GOD. has anyone seen The Times today? (Yes, I know, I know, had to buy it for work)

what should be on page 3 of T2 section

"An open letter to the next chairman of Marks and Spencer"
followed by suggestions from columnist.

Spooky.

Look here (not sure if you have to register to view)
open letter to m&s

Northerner · 12/05/2004 09:51

Must say I LOVE M&S food but i HATE HATE HATE Per Una. Those tops with frilly edges and all those heart shaped buttons. Grrrr.

katierocket · 12/05/2004 09:52

coddy are you a Times spy?

frogs · 12/05/2004 10:00

And they can have thirty seconds of free consultancy from me, too:

Rip off mini-Boden kids clothes at half the price, instead of trying to rip off Woolies at twice the price.

Dur...

bundle · 12/05/2004 10:10

frogs, how clever of you have you thought of applying for the chairman's vacancy?

michellefromlakeland · 12/05/2004 10:51

Katie - i wish! I lol a lot when I read that int he bath this am

katierocket · 12/05/2004 10:53

it's a bit of a co-incidence though isn't it?

noddy5 · 12/05/2004 10:58

Love m&s food but have stopped buying it as it is just too expensive!Like per una and the new teenage one is quite cheap and goes up to size 16!
