M&S are doing a fab 'value' range for incredible prices at the moment. We bought white dinner plates, side plates, pasta bowls and cereal bowls - all good quality, £2 per piece. Dishwasher and microwave safe. We bought ours 6 months ago and no chips at all yet.

BettySpaghetti · 26/11/2006 21:51

Ours are plain white and seem to be standing the test of time -only one chip on a side plate which is not bad as they are used every day.

They are by Linda Barker (is that her name? designer from Changing Rooms etc) and were from Matalan. Can't remeber how much though I'm afraid.

Mine are Wedgewood Garden Maze and from Beatties cant remember how much but dont really like them anymore - would prefer plain white

jampots · 26/11/2006 21:59

garden maze

we got a set of white china from argos for our wedding five years ago - they are still going strong and only one small chip on a dinner plate.

nappyaddict · 27/11/2006 01:03

asda and matalan are good. we got two sets for 4 people for about £20 i think. they do separates as well if you need it for more than 4.

IKEA are my favourite. Got a set in 1999, and they are still going strong! I only changed them recently because I was fed up of them.

hulababy · 27/11/2006 09:06

We just use plain white ones from Ikea. They do chip in the dishwasher though - but doesn't matter too much as they are cheap enough to ust replace as and when.

amazonianwoman · 27/11/2006 10:54

Ikea big white plates from the 365 range. We've had about 16 of them for at least 3 years and not one has broken or chipped, they get chucked in the dishwasher, no probs. Ditto the big white soup dishes and smaller plates.

NB don't get the cheaper Ikea value packs, they chip really easily.

Laura032004 · 27/11/2006 23:13

Ours are the 365 range too.

MarsLady · 27/11/2006 23:14

Nemoinapeartree · 27/11/2006 23:16
