Double Duvet Covers for Children

My ds is 3 and he is going to have to move bedroom as we are expecting another baby. He is moving into a room with a double bed. I am keen to make the room appealling to him however I am really struggling to find double duvet covers for children. It seems the only option is a football team cover which I don't want to get as he's only 3 and he's too young to be very interested in football.
Any ideas????

let6 him see all the double duvet covers available and let him choose it - he will be more pleased that he chose it than anything else.

Does he need a double size duvet - a single would probably suit him fine for the timebeing - or perhaps a plain bright colour duvet cover with a different coloured sheet /pillowcase ?

colditz · 25/11/2006 22:04

simpsons?

Or get a plain one, and buy a character fleece to use as a bedspread?

NotAnOtter · 25/11/2006 22:05

aha ....i might have just the item ...iron bed company now feather and black - will try and link later but i have two for my ds from there

How about something like this -colourful!

Check out la redoute - they have eg Snoopy, penguins, cows, puppies, have a scroll through.

Mind you he doesn't have to have a double duvet even though he's in a double bed - you could try him with a single one to begin with and see if that will keep him warm enough.

Ikea single duvet covers are really big - would easily cover the top of a normal double bed - though you may need another throw or something to cover the sides

JanH · 25/11/2006 22:22

But you have to buy an IKEA duvet too, to fit them (and nothing else will fit them, and vice versa )

treacletart · 25/11/2006 22:27

We have a standard double duvet in a single Ikea cover and it works fine honest.

I just wanted to say Thank You for all your useful suggestions. The le redoute website is particularly useful.

I am selling some double digger duvets on Ebay...we live abroad and our son went straight into a double bed and we had a nightmare trying to find a nice cover for him.
When I saw loads of them here in Melbourne i thought I'd send some home...and the orders kept coming. I'm putting a fresh batch on later today. HTH
