Digital camera for a 4yo

DD (4y7m) has asked for a real camera for Christmas - a digital one. She's been asking for a while now and is very consistent in her request. She loves using my camera.

We were going to get her the pink Fisher Price digital camera. It costs £60 at ELC but I have a 20% discount code/voucher, making it £48. Unfortunately it is not in stock in ELC anywhere!

I have struggled to see it in town today anywhere, and definitely not in the pink. I don't want to buy from ebay.

I also think that £60 is quite a lot of money for a children's camera (£48 seemed a better deal) and I am wondering if a normal camera might be better in the long run as I am likely to get more for my money.

So, I have about £60-70 to spend. Which is the best camera I can get from a reputable/well known store (online or off) for this amount?

Help!

simple digital camera

I agree that a normal one would be better - you can customise it with stickers

Look in Argos? And look up reviews - make sure that the camera you want is a good all-rounder

corrina28 - she's only 4 and IO really don't think she'd understand why FC couldn't find one in advance. She is so excited about her new real camera - got to get it before.

Reaslly want want that uses an SD card (I think most do now) as I have 2 x 1GB cards and a 16MB card here, form mine.

Seen a nice Kodak Easyshare which looks good, and I like the OLympus (on Argos) reduced to half price.

All sorted now. I met Dh in town for lunch and he got her a Canon Powershot, reduced to £75 from £149.99. A bit higher than original budget, but as we don't need to buy a new memory card now it actually worked out slightly cheaper than our alternative couple of cameras.
