you should be able to use an ordinary puncture kit

bran · 23/11/2006 17:51

You can use a regular puncture repair kit on it, and if it's only a slow puncture you can put this stuff into they tyre. It worked very well for me and any good bike shop should stock it.

dh just explained how it is cracked around the valve, so we need a new inner tyre I think.

would a bike shop be able to help you out?

my daddyboss fixed the puncture on our phil and teds last week.... but that was just a regular puncture!

anonymum2 · 23/11/2006 21:05

you can get it repaired at a bike shop and they will put in a new inner tube - but it will have a diff shape valve.

we lived inan area with lots of broken glass on the pavements last year and I had 3 trips to local bike shop for repairs on my urban detour...

VoodooFig · 23/11/2006 21:07

hmm thanks I will take it in somewhere over the weekend. what a pain!
Urban detour should be sold with a spare inner tyre I think...

Just take the wheel to a bike shop, they will change the tube for you. Or they will sell you a new tube, if you want to change it yourself. (If you think there's a puncture, though, you need to check inside the tyre for the glass etc, otherwise the new tube will puncture, too.)

Take to bike shop, all sorted

get them to put that protective stuff round the inner tube to stop it happening again - we had 3 punctures last year (mostly around this time of year when the council cut the hedges - thorns fly around) but none this year since having the plastic stuff in the tyres

thanks F&Z good tip.

the more I look into this the more people have punctured their prams.
