Baby Oil - What's it for?!

Every new baby package I received when lo was born contained baby oil. Now, at 10months old I've just discovered it all sitting unopened on his shelf. We seem to have gotten this far without it, so what is it actually for? I haven't found a single use for it yet! The only thing I thought it might be for would be baby massage but the lady that taught me that said to use something else as baby oil made baby too slippery. Is there something I've missed? Something I should have been doing with all this oil?!

I too have a huge bottle. That and baby lotion. Four years later it's still unopened! I guess it's not necessary!

When they are older it's good for getting off those transfer tattoos. Taking off make up. Shining stainless steel. Making the skin on your horse's nose and round his eyes look pretty. Mix with granulated sugar for a nice body exfoliator.

Quite fun in the bedroom too, if you don't use condoms...

It's a brilliant detangler for my horses' unruly tails.

Fun sex. HTH

And for softening up the "dirt" in their sheaths.

I use it as lube. (They don't recommend it though- can't remember why).

BitOutOfPractice · 06/08/2015 09:47

You can't use it with condoms luckiest but other than that it's fine

Sensory bottles. Water, baby oil, blue food colouring, glitter, plastic tat fish, ta da, ocean in a bottle.

I used it more for making baby!!!

Rubbed on after a bath it is meant to help skin retain moisture.

Well that's a lot more uses than I thought, but I'm glad it's not just me that seems to think it's pretty useless as far as using it on babies goes hehe!
