I've got it on me today but when I first read the title it read to me as 'student off licence'!

Ah don't worry
Have found an old copy of Office 2000 which I have installed, that will do!

I bought a copy for my daughter who was 5 at the time . But no, they didn't check at all.

OEM is slightly different as its supposed to be only sold with a new PC

Too late to be of use, but no, they don't check, anyone can buy the student/teacher version (it's what I've got).
