Apart from a quick wipe down with a cold flannel?

turn nocturnal - daylight causes wrinkles

hana · 20/11/2006 14:45

well I am fast approaching 37 and I don't do much apart from moisturize in am and pm and I use a exfoliating fashwash when I can be bothered!
think I did more when I was younger and had the energy.....
do try and use a nice one - am using Olay at the moment but would like to splash out on some clarins

MegaLegs · 20/11/2006 14:46

I almost was nocturnal 'till ds4 finally decided sleeping was good.

Drink lots of water - this is the single best thing you can do!

iota · 20/11/2006 14:46

another top tip -don't have kids

oops too late

MegaLegs · 20/11/2006 14:47

I always mean to do that too and suddenly it gets to tea time and I realis I've drunk nothing but a couple of coffees.

I have been using Estee Lauder products for a few years, not because I'm particularly interested in my skin tone but because they come as a bonus when I get my foundation or a expensive shine control/moisturiser I have got very attached to.

Chandra · 20/11/2006 14:49

and sleep well ( ha ha ha... I wish)

iota · 20/11/2006 14:49

OK serious tip now - always use a moisuriser with a sunscreen in it - sunlight really is the main cause of wrinkles

and don't smoke

MegaLegs · 20/11/2006 15:49

Which products are good. I never get time to look properly and there are so many.

Clarins products ime do what they say on the pack. What's good depends on your skin though. Biotherm is also good. It's all very expensive, so best to get some advice. Why not go for a facial at a Clarins Studio, and ask them what would be good for your skin. You don't need to buy anything at the time - I expect there are discount websites for skincare but don't know which.

Thanks normalness. My mum and sisters have promised me a very small spree in Space NK for my birthday next week. Will see what they recommend (probably lots of V V V expensive stuff)

Just turned 39 here and swear by lancome Hydra zen...its pricey but a pot lasts months and my skin is not tooooo bad ( considering!)

amazonianwoman · 21/11/2006 12:23

If you're going to Space NK, they sell Eve Lom cleanser which is FAB and lasts forever. You massage it on face (it feels quite greasy) then remove it by pressing a hot cloth (provided) on your face then massaging face with it to exfoliate. Sounds like a right faff but it isn't, and you don't need toner/face scrub etc, so not as expensive as it seems. And it really does last! Doesn't dry skin out either.

(I'm 40 btw, and I think it helps to give a bit of that long lost glow )
