what do I need to know? fancy one for when I am out running rather than taking handfuls of phones and huge old-fashioned CD walkmans

are they any good? how many songs do they hold or how much memory should they have?

thinking about asking for one for a birthday present... don't want to go too expensive

i have the Samsung D600/900 can't remember which. i have a couple of hundred songs on it, plus you can buy extra memory chips so that you can store even more if you like.

My sister has the Sony Ericson K800i and she loves it.

both are very good, all singing al dancing and very easy to use

I have an LG phone with an MP3 player. this one

I tend to download stuff to the MP3 player bit and then use them as ringtones - that's probably a bit tragic really.

But then I don't really go anywhere that would warrant me having a walkman at the moment. If I was going back and fore to work on the train or something, I think it would be fab.

My phone holds about an album's worth of MP3's - but you can get extra memory things for it, I believe.

It's a really nice phone though - and the camera is better than my dad's actual digital camera.

The sound with headphones in is excellent!!

JonesTheSteam · 19/11/2006 21:54

Whoops - sorry it's this one !!!

No good at this technology stuff really!

Fattymumma · 19/11/2006 23:29

you can put mine on to play as a kind of stereo which sounds pants but if you use the headphones its really good.

DD1 and DS1 both have the Sony Ericsson 800i which is a Walkman, which is also a phone, and also takes excellent pictures, and they both love it. DD1 is with Orange and DS1 with O2, both at c £25 a month.

JanH · 19/11/2006 23:43

Oh, and DD2 has just got the SE 850i on an Orange contract and she is thrilled with hers too.

If you get one on contract you can upgrade in 12 months and keep getting a new one...
