A friend of mine has a cross shaped springy thing that she puts onto the dining room chair legs to raise the chair up about 6 inches for her toddler. Anyone idea what it might be called or a web site that sells them?? (She's away for a while which is why I haven't just aked her!)

Is this the type of thing ?

Exactly that!!! Thanks, SMG. Dd has decided she prefers my chair to her high chair and can't quite reach. Am happy to ditch high chair.

Try your local Living Aids type shop for disabled/elderly.
Some chemists eg Lloyds/Munros might sell them.
Glad I could help
