Encyclopaedia Britannica CD Rom anyone?

Thinking of buying DD (5yo) the Encyclopaedia Britannica Children's encylcopaedia for Christmas. Would any of you recommend it or are there better alternatives? She really loves using the computer and finding out things. Figured this way she can simply immerse herself in loads of knowledge.

Just been informed by Britannica that the Children's edition is written entirely in American English Anyone got any recommendations of english-written encyclopaedias on CDRom?
