Has anyone got LEGO MINDSTORMS? Is it any good/worth the money?

DS1 used it in two workshops at Easter, and loved it. He's saving up for it!

What is it? DS (nearly 8 ) is asking for lego for Christmas?

Ds has the old one, and is getting the new one for Christmas (shh). Absolutely worth the (not inconsiderable) price IMO. It's just so versatile and such a good learning tool. As CF says, they are used in robotics departments all over the place Ds started with Spybotics, which can still be got on eBay and worked his way up from there, but I'm sure your ds won't need stepping stones.

DS1 played with it at the Science Centre in Glasgow at Easter, then at Wonderama in Edinburgh!
