Ah - there you are!
Our newly decorated bedroom is desperate for some accessories. The furniture is laquered ( I mean shiny wood ) 1930s inherited stuff and the floorboards are painted cream. Walls are pale peach. I would like a "thing" to be a feature on the art deco (ish) dressing table - but what? Links and pictures for ideas would be fab. Flowers? Plants? Vases etc - please inspire - the room just doesn't look finished

Secret to a room looking finished is pictures/paintings on the wall. A nice brightly colored glass vase that looks good with or without flowers might work on the dressing table.

How about something like this if you are going for the deco look?
princesspeahead · 05/05/2004 23:25
I assume there is a mirror on the dressing table? Otherwise a standing one a must. Otherwise a collection of chunky angular glass bottles for would be nice and look the part - as sofia says, coloured glass also very good. Think Chanel No 5 bottle type of shapes, but bigger perhaps. Also those 30s enameled photo frames - in pistachio and old-rose pink colours are beautiful and pretty easy to find in antique places.

There are a billion bits of Art Deco glassware on Ebay fyi

Thanks folks - glassware seems to be the way to go. There are loads of antique/collectible shops near to me so will have a nose. Cheers!
