Has anyone had a digital camera repaired?

This is the second digital camera that I've broken by dropping it The first time the battery compartment broke so the camera was still usable - with masking tape over the battery compartment.

This time the internal mechanism seems to have broken. The camera is 2 months out of warranty. I am wondering how much it might cost to get repaired and are they even repairable?

What make is it? My friend had one repaired by Kodak and it did cost a lot I'm afraid

Or can you claim it on your house insurance?

It's a Hewlett Packard.
