Any whisky drinkers / experts? Need some advice!

Hi all,

I'm trying to pick a special prezzie for DHs 30th but know v little about it.

would you go for the Dallmore King Alexander Third 1263 with engraved bottle saying happy 30th, or Ballantines 30 yr old? which is the better tasting whisky? He likes bourbon ideally but 30yr old bourbons don't seem to be out there...and he does love scotch too.

help and suggestions massively appreciated.

I'm not a whiskey expert but a friend raved about pappy van winkle bourbon but that seems hard to find and expensive when you do!

Whilst googling things though I did stumble across someone else with the same problem on reddit. They seem to be in the US but it might give you some good bourbon ideas
