TESCO POINT CODES, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! SEE WHY HERE...

spoke to technical for the 100th time regarding the many codes I have gleaned and tried without success to do my shopping.

Technical Dept have informed me that unless the code was sent to your email address or home address they will not be recognised when you try to use them.

This is what they were sneakily doing with the Tesco Site in the summer. They were updating it not to recognise their codes unless they were sent to you directly.

Oh well, bye bye Tesco's, it was the only thing that kept me spending £80 a week with them.

When I vented my disappointment and mentioned that they will lose a lot of custom because of it, she merely said 'well thats yours and other customers perogative' They are obviously so overwhelmed with custom that they dont care who they upset.

I for one am off to Asda or similar>>>>>>.

the other codes work though the money off ones

TwinklingTinselAndTenaLady · 06/11/2006 20:22

Hardly worth the bother sometimes though, it just about covers your delivery and thats it. I could save more than that buying with Asda and knowing I wasnt supporting what is now nearly the next strongest super power in the world

It was her throw away comment of being our perogative if we dont like how they are playing the rules. F**king cheek!

fair enough! I have to say i use tesco coz its the cheapest all over for me. Only use them online occasionally now though.

tortoise · 06/11/2006 20:25

I have to use Tesco. They are the only ones who deliver in my area and i don't drive so have to have home delivery.
Their clubcard deals are worthwhile too.

mustrunmore · 06/11/2006 20:28

Can anyone shed light on a quick query for me then?
I had 2 diff vouchers for 100 extra points shopping online (with Tescos). When I used one, it deducted 1p off my bill. The other deducted £1. Whats going on?!
And I used a £5 off your first ever order voucher; cant they tell i order all the time? If not, why not, given they have the technology that if i can buy something it suddenly becomes one of my favourites?!

TwinklingTinselAndTenaLady · 06/11/2006 20:32

mustrunmore, I cant help you there, they make it up as they go along.

Tortoise, you wont be able to get anymore points to get your deals unless they are sent to you directly. You cant get the codes from the voucher websites because they will of been registered to somebody else and they seemed to of worked this out and stopped it.

Tell me about it
Our best order was 2 days before xmas, heavily pg, and £36 of stuff just 'not on the van, sorry, and all delivery slots are full now' Never got a reply from customer services.

Last weeks one only had 7 items unavailable; a miracle.

I used one of those codes that was posted some where here and it worked

anniebear · 07/11/2006 12:02

sorry just read whole thread!

advocateofthedevil · 07/11/2006 12:05

Not entirely sure what the problem is here. If the voucher codes weren't sent to you they're not yours to use so you've not lost anything have you? There's nothing wrong or sneaky abuot Tescos updating their website to stop what's basically fraud is there?

shhhh · 07/11/2006 16:18

Thing is I think the more you spend with Tesco the less they send you in terms of online discount codes..I use them on a regular basic and although I money off vouchers and clubcard vouchers etc I NEVER get deals like you see online..1000 extra points over £100 shopping etc.
I totally agree with you twinkle.

aotd..so have you never used a voucher a friend has passed onto you..? Not even one for £1 off nappies etc..? Just the same imho..At the end of the day, some people are just trying to save money where they can. We are in a rip off generation so why should the shops benefit.??!!!

Fauve · 07/11/2006 16:27

Um, sorry to be naive, but which are the voucher websites? I'm looking for a code for Lego online.

I can't see that any retailer loses by the sharing of promo codes - they just get more business, surely?

TheHighwayCod · 07/11/2006 16:29

" overwhelmed with custom that they dont care who they upset. "

COURSE!"

cornetjo · 07/11/2006 21:20

I am totally p**d off with Tesco. Just returned from holiday with a totally empty fridge/freezer, waited for delivery between 4-6pm, not arrived at 7pm so phoned and told will refund delivery but would definitely arrive that evening. At midnight still nothing!!!

Phoned following morning and apparently they came to the house but no-one was in, so returned to store and cancelled the order. No phone call, no apology. Now have to try and do a massive shop with 2 small children.

Will definitely try ASDA next time.

kid · 07/11/2006 21:26

I have a website saved on my favourites of different offers from different supermarkets. Let me find it so you can see if there are any offers you fancy taking advantage of, if they still work that is.

JanH · 07/11/2006 21:27

I was sent an email in Sept offering 1000 extra points if we paid an annual sub for DVD rental - replied, signed up and payment was taken on Sept 12. No points. Emailed late Sept - reply said points would be credited by end Oct. Still no points by Nov 2, emailed again on Sunday and they said they would be applied ASAP. Haven't been in to local store to check yet.

But I only knew they hadn't been applied because I don't shop there much and only had about 1200 points at this stage; anybody who already had 1000s of points wouldn't notice, probably.

They do make me

kid · 07/11/2006 21:29

here are some offers.
