theatre vouchers

Does anyone know where you can get theatre vouchers from and what sort I should get? This is for someone who lives out of London but visits regularly and I want her to have her pick of whichever play or musical she fancies, when she fancies it. Can I buy vouchers which would work for any London theatre (or indeed for any theatre out of London as well)?

You probably want these . They have no expiry date and you can generally buy them on ebay at a discount.

The one thing I would say is that you should check the list of theatres for their nearest ones. Our nearest one is not on the list (though there are some within 8 or 9 miles so no great hardship). Also I have to say that I'm not that fond of these:- it is much easier to book over the net or the phone, but that is not generally possibly if you pay by voucher - you have to do it in person or by post (so you can't choose your seats). I have some from years ago that I really shoudl ebay!

I have just read the t&c

you can ring up and book seats and then send them in or take them to box office

or spend them at theatre booths

or on ticketmaster who will also accept them

Have you tried using them on Ticketmaster RTKM? They couldn't guarantee me my choice of seats when I tried?

No I am going to use them at the booth in leicester sq

cos I want to make sure I see Philip Quast and that he isn't ill on the night I choose

Where are your tickets from? They sound the sort of vouchers I want? I want the person I'm giving them too to be able to ring up and book a choice of seats - going in person wouldn't be convenient since they are not in London.

I haven't used any yet though, cos I got the tickets from seetickets for the last time I went to theatre

Try ringing ticketmaster or the theatre in london at random and ask them how they organise the vouchers + tickets
