Trailer-bike - any experts please

We have just bought a second hand trailer-bike for DS to use (it's one of those with saddle and handle bars but just one wheel at the back).
We tried to attach it to DH's Marin mountain bike today but the seat pin was too thin for the trailer-bike attachment. Ditto my new bike that I use with a child seat for DD.

Does anyone know if you can get some sort of universal sizing pad or something to make it fit?

TIA

My husband, who also tows DS around on a trailer and likes tinkering with bikes, says there should be a plastic collar inside. Can you check with the seller whether they still have it?

thanks for the reply Wid. My local Halfords have just come up trumps for me with a collar like you are describing. and for no charge! I'm very very impressed with the service I have recieved from them this morning.
