another lost toy - pig!
eli · 29/04/2004 16:03
Hi, i know i only drop in here from time to time but I wonder whether any of you kind people can help me. We were in the States over Easter and seem to have left my son's pig somewhere en route. He has had it since he was a baby and is quite upset about it being missing although he is 7. Obviously it is not as critical as for a younger child but if anyone has one lurking around I should be most grateful if I could take it, throw it around the garden, sew a patch onto it and present it to DS! The original pig was bought in marks and Spencers in/around November 96 and is similar to a beanie baby. In hope......

Try ebay - suggested this to lady recently who had lost a toy dog. She found one on it. Go to soft toys and type in pig. Good luck.

I have a pink mand s pig some where how does it sit? Mine sitts on his bum with feet splayed to side

thanks for your ideas. Have tried ebay but nothing there at the moment. The pig doesn't sit, he sort of lies. Not much substance to him really. He's floppy like the beanie babies IYKWIM.

eli, BINGO! I have one. My son is only a bit older than yours, so I reckon it is a 1996 vintage, floppy on his tummy sort of pig. You could buy various animals then. Great prezzies for babies at the time!
He isn't one of my son's favourites, so I doubt he would even miss him, if he ran away from home in a Jiffy Bag.
But I do know how he'd feel if he lost his Panda, which he too has had since he was a baby, so therefore I would like to send it to you.
Let's try and do this contact another talker thing, and see what happens.

Bluesky - THANK YOU! I am so grateful, I shall try to contact you via the contact another talker bit but haven't been there before so will have to see how it goes. A big thank you to everyone else who has looked as well. What a great website.

Until very recently our son Max had a Marks and Spencers Pig. He was called Alan and he has had him since he was 6 months old. On the way to visit friends in Denmark he was left at a supermarket. The whole family is devastated if anyone has one they could spare it would make a 7 year old boy (and his family) very happy. It was bought in 1997 and sounds like the one that was described as 'sitting' in a previous post - I could email a photo as we have a few. I can't believe that I have found this page - it would be a dream if we could get another pig like Alan. Heres hoping....
