I got given a tube of this today by my friend. I've read about its miraculous qualities in every magazine I've picked up lately, but I'm still not sure what you actually do with it? Do you use it as a face cream? It's the consistency of tar! Please enlighten me. I feel like everyone's in on a giant secret except me!

I have used it as a lip balm / gloss and also have put it onto bites, stings as a first aid measure. But sometimes I too wonder, what is it actually for?!

WhoooooshICouldGiveUpWork · 03/11/2006 22:13

I felt the same way when I splashed out on a tube!

As it happens,I use it on dd's chapped face in the Winter-never use it on mine....

ambercat · 03/11/2006 22:13

i use it as a lip balm and have just finished rubbing it in to my very dry hands as have run out of hand cream!! They feel softer already!

Tbh am not sure what you're supposed to usr it for so will watch with interest.

I don't use it.

I have friends bring me something called 'Bag Balm' from the US. It works a bomb and costs about half of what 8 hour cream does.

I find that 8 hour stuff too smelly.

Keeps my eyebrows under control...

MrsMuddle · 03/11/2006 22:44

Hmm, lips and eyebrows. So, nothing you can't use vaseline for. At a millionth of the price. I was hoping I'd get a flood of replies, all telling me to slather it on my face to be guaranteed to wake up tomorrow looking 10 years younger! I'll put it on my hands and feet tonight before I go to bed and see if they're silky smooth in the morning. Thanks, everyone.

Nah-you are so rigt-vaseline does exactly the same and you can spend the difference on a bottle of wine!

caffeinequeen · 03/11/2006 22:50

I don't use the cream anymore because it is very sticky and does indeed have a particular scent. Instead I use the tinted lipbalms here, sorry annoying American site

bloodyhowler · 03/11/2006 22:56

I somtimes cover my whole face in a layer if i want a bit of a boost and sleep overnight in it You have to wash your hair in te morning though as it gets a bit greasy looking.I used it as lip balm and rub it on bites stings etc

saadia · 03/11/2006 23:04

lol MrsMuddle at looking 10 years younger. It certainly is strange cream. I bought some as well, convinced of its miraculous properties and have not actually used it. Will maybe try slathering it on overnight.
