DS has outgrown his old bike and needs a 24 size. Granny wants to get him a new one for his birthday. We usually get ridgebacks but they are just so expensive now.

Does anyone in the 'bike know' have an alternative make suggestion?

I'll put my thinking cap on, but would a second-hand one do?
