Pick up sticks

When we were little we used to have a set of plastic (I normally hate plastic toys) Pick up sticks. They were crutches/golf clubs/hockeystick/all sorts of things

However now I can only find straight wooden sticks in place of them....is there another name or am I being exceptionally dim?

TIA
KMc

I can remember these, I used to play for hours upon hours with them, can't remember the name though.

It was much more fun that the plain stick ones as they got caught up on each other

My dd would love them

Mine would too, I have a vague recollection they were made of cream plastic and were in a blue box.

I remember them too. can't help though. I have a feeling there are a couple of nostalgiac-type toy websites - maybe some clever googling would help? but we did get dds some of the plain wood ones and they do enjoy them.

I remember them - here!

EcoWarrior · 02/11/2006 18:33

I told you they came in a blue box

EcoWarrior · 02/11/2006 18:36

I can remember trying to get the ladder out, it was a bugger if caught on the crutches

Katymac · 02/11/2006 18:38

That's what I want ....but I want it new

DD is very "odd" about old things...she won't read my old Swallows & Amazons - but loved them when borrowed from the library (newer edition...mine are 1952)
