You can get a refurb Here with 12 month warranty for under £60.

bubblerock · 02/11/2006 09:35

oops - no you can't, it's out of stock

oliveoil · 02/11/2006 09:38

what does a refurb camera mean then, a display one?

I'm looking for one for DS1 at the moment so have been doing a lot of internet searching recently. I have found the same camera here for less! No advantage points there of course though.
The reviews I have read are mixed - apparently the LCD screen is a bit small and the camera itself is fairly basic.

bubblerock · 02/11/2006 09:48

It only has a small screen and no viewfinder - virtually impossible to take a pic in bright outdoor conditions - you could get a better one for a similar price, oo.

I'll have a google for you but you want tamum or GeorginaA for the best advice

PretendFriend · 02/11/2006 10:09

tamum has recommended this Kodak one before - her DS has it and she thinks it's great. Also amazon is THE place to get cheap memory cards, and other accessories.

Or there's this Fuji

bubblerock · 02/11/2006 10:15

lol - it's a nightmare!! I can recommend canon, but only because my old 3.2mp one has never let me down, although I do fancy upgrading soon to more megapixels

PretendFriend · 02/11/2006 10:16

Canon Powershot

PretendFriend · 02/11/2006 10:21

Fuji 512mb memory card £8.48 - they're about £45 in Jessops

Oh, me too, normsknockers! New technology is leaving me further and further behind, I feel like my own grandma!

I have managed the connect-download thing, that part's easy - the lead comes with the camera, it just plugs into one of the USB ports; then the PC pops up an idiot's box to tell you what to do.

Admittedly someone else (under 20!) had already loaded the software but I think that's quite easy too? It's a CD-rom and that will have its own idiot instructions

BROWNY · 02/11/2006 11:37

Hi, I don't know that much about photography, GeorgeinaA is the best person to speak to, but I would suggest buying a camera with a 5 or more megapixel and the highest OPTICAL zoom you can find. Also having the advantage of a video clip with sound recorder comes in very handy. HTH

bubblerock · 03/11/2006 13:22

This is a good price if you're still looking

bubblerock · 03/11/2006 13:32

THESE photo's were taken last week with my old 3.2mp canon - so a 5.1mp would be fab!
