OK, the Leapster is bust, so what should I get for my almost 6 year old? A gameboy?

I have no idea what is out there for an almost 6 year old. Should I get a replacement Leapster, since I have a couple of games for it already. Is there such a thing as a basic Gameboy? What else should we consider?

All thoughts gratefully received.

my just 7 yo has been playing on his big brothers old play station 1 for the last year, and loves it. I never thought he'd manage it though. Not sure if he could do the PS2 or a gameboy though. His big brother has a new nintendo ds lite with the labrodor dogs game, and he does this easily though, and thats really nice too.

i think your best shot for something simple is the nintendo ds. they are really popular at the mo, psp is better but ds is much easier to use for a younger child.

My ds has had a gameboy since he was 4.5 years old & he loves it!
