Leappad confusion - which one for a 4 yo?

Very confused (so easy) about the choice of Leappads. Can you please tell me which one is best for a 4 year old? And are the 'older' children's different sytems compatible eg the writing plus etc?

Thank you!

I don't know the technical details, but my 3 year old uses her 7 year old brother's Leappad plus writing (in fact she gets far more use out of it than he does). I certainly wouldn't buy the more babyish one for a 4 year old.

The my first leappad which my DD1 has had since she was 2.5, is more songs, games, observational, a bit more about fun than reading. I wouldn't buy one for her now but she is still playing with it now aged 4.

Not much help but hope it helps

Yes - don;t get the younger one - bought for DS's 3rd b-day and is now obsolete for him. All the books he wants are for the other one.

Thanks, might look at the Leappad Plus Writing one then if it is compatible withthe other books. Cheers
