Bugaboo Gecko or Cameleon

I've decided to buy a Gecko or a Cameleon, but I cannot decide which. I know there have been several discussions about both buggies before, but I would really like to hear why Bugaboo owners decided to go for the Gecko or the Cameleon. Any ideas which I should buy?

I went for the Gecko in black for several reasons:

Its cheaper and ds2 was 11 months so I wasn't going to use the carrycot so I couldn't justify the extra expense.

I didn't need the adjustible handle height as i'm short.
The pushchair overall is smaller.

I really liked the fleece covers on the cameleon so have bought the bugaboo fleece lined footmuff in a bright colour to brighten it up a bit and use as a liner later on.

Its great by the way, I'm really pleased with it

we didn't consider the chameleon because it was too expensive and I wasn't sure how great those fleece trims would be in light showers.
We came very close to buying the gecko but I didn't like how low the carrycot was (it is a bit higher on the chameleon).
We've ordered a mutsy instead.

Both v good quality. I love the Gecko for its lightness ans simplicity, my only concern is the size of the seat unit. I don't think it would last v long and be outgrown too soon (considering its price).

Cameleon has all the bells and whistles and is just that little bit bigger (for the baby). Some people don't like all that colour choice they think its just all too fussy.

Both good, difficult one really.

I love our cameleon. the cover actually stands up pretty well in showers (though rain cover ace too) - just sort of repels the rain rather than absorbing it. The reason we went for the cam was because wanted the buggy board too, and felt that if dd was standing on it with a gecko her head would be in the way of the handlebar (or vice versa). The cameleon has extendable handlebar and so she stand inside it and dh can push comfortably as he's quite tall.
Have to say that it's been worth every penny. Got it when ds was 5 months so was almost into the seat rather than the carrycot, and dd was 2.7 at the time and happy as larry with the board - it's even big enough for her to sit/kneel if she fancies. Hoping to have another baby at some point and am looking forward to using it from scratch though not sure how it'd work with the board.

The footmuff is LOVELY -so cosy. Reminds me - must get ours out now it's getting colder.

Thanks very much for your responses - its very helpful. I know it's not the most difficult decision in the world, but...

Oh I don't know - think it is a pretty difficult decision. Have had techno XT, duo traveller, pliko, cameleon. And not one of them is perfect!
