I'm looking at buying a Skoda Fabia and I'm wondering what it is like on the motorway.

I would be grateful for any replies.

I've only driven one a couple of times and from what I can remember it was a petrol 1.4...

Anyway, didn't think it was a bad runner at all (skoda is owned by VW so drives just like a polo imho) and I'd be happy taking it on the motorway.

Ours was good, though I prefer our focus.

We have the fabia estate (2006) and quite like it. Has a lot more power than I would have expected

WanderWomble · 08/07/2015 21:59

Before I got my Superb, I had a Fabia estate. It was a fab car and ate motorway miles. Cheap to run/insure too.

WanderWomble · 08/07/2015 22:00

I should point out that it was a 1.4 petrol and could get from London to Newcastle on 3/4 tank, even though I have something of a lead foot!

We have petrol 1.2 estate and agree it has more power than expected and is fine on motorway. What are your particular concerns?

AmyBecker · 02/11/2015 15:48

It holds its own, 70 on the motorway and it does reasonably well. It is a great car, it's reliable and comfortable, and the ride is actually quite smooth.

Can be known to rev fairly high on the motorway though so only 42 to the gallon, can get a bit loud but from what you get from the car i don't think it will be that much of an issue.

I have a 51 plate Fabia 1.4 that I adore. More than capable of 90mph

y0rkier0se · 02/11/2015 16:01

70mph*

ValiantMouse · 22/11/2015 01:26

If it's anything like mine, 90mph sounds right!

Skoda fabia 1.4 here too but it has an extra turbo -y thing which gives it added oomph. I love Fabias. Would like it to be quieter inside the car whilst driving but great itherwise

Holstein · 23/11/2015 23:09

um... my erm friend... has done 97 on the motorway in their 1.2l fabia.
It's a fab car.
