My First LeapPad for a 2yo?

DD has just got a LeapPad for her birthday. DS is desperate to get his hands on it and wondered whether it was worth getting him a My First LeapPad for his 2nd birthday? He's about average development and I wondered if there are any games that would engage him at that age.

I bought this for my dd for her 2nd birthday as I felt the little touch leap pad would be too young for her. It was a little bit too old for her at the time and she needed help with it, such as pressing the green go circle but the noises of animals etc amused her. She is three now and can do it by herself but tbh it doesn't excite her that much anymore!! Blame modern technology.

Is it responsive enough for a 2 yo? I'm hoping he'll play with it in the car - after having spent some time with him playing it so he has some vague idea what to do. I find the LeapPad is ok and he enjoys just randomly pressing the pictures. But the book looks less secure in the My First Leappad. I suppose I need to go and try one out.

Have remembered my friend's LO has one so I'll see if I can borrow it for a few days for DS to try out.
