I want to give someone a wireless weather station by which I think they mean something attached to the outside the house and then a base unit inside the house receiving readings. Can anyone recommend where I could get such a thing ?

Anything here any good?

firemaiden · 29/10/2006 00:38

Wow, that was quick! Thank you, those sites look great. Can't believe Tesco does this too - never occurred to me to look there. Really glad I asked since all I had found was one from the Science Museum costing £59.99 + P&P.

Thanks very much indeed. Xmas list getting gradually ticked off!

PS do either of you have any experience of using these weather stations? Any recommendations on readings/gadgets they should definitely have?

I think I might get the tesco one fo DS. He has a non electronic one in the garden that hasn't exactly got him excited. I think the electronic bit makes all the difference.

They had these in Lidl the other week, for under £10 IIRC (that £20 ebay one looks as if it might have come from Lidl ) - how urgently do you need one? Lidl tends to have the same things coming round at regular intervals, if that helps.

A christmas present so not urgent but I notice several things I'm buying other people are out of stock already so trying to buy things as early as I can. It's actually for my dad (now that his children are finally grown-up he's able to afford and enjoy gadgets). He admired something similar last year that a friend had so want quite a nice/sophisticated one but don't want to go overboard in case he doesn't use it much.

Wow, that's amazing. Might have to buy it for myself (I would like one and also don't quite feel I can spend only £2.99 on my Dad at Christmas!!).
