Sorry can't help you there, I want the Nikon D200 with a Nikon 18-200mm lens and my DH said NO.

Step away from the thread, Sunchowder!

Have a look at digital-cameras.com they have revews I think and you can search by price range.

We've had two fujifilm ones (I lost first one
Easy to use, reliable and excellent images.

What are your "must haves" for the camera, misdee?

sunchowder · 24/10/2006 19:10

Thanks Soupy! Misdee--I had started a thread earlier that I was upset because I wanted a new digital camera too. I currently have a Fuji Finepix S5000. You need something between 6 and 7 Pixels to be decent, the rest is up to the features you want.

(love my trusty Canon Ixus V3. 4 years on it still takes great pictures at only 3megapixels)

misdee · 24/10/2006 19:11

easy to use, and not so easy to break lol. upto £200.

nice zoom, good for indoor/outdoor pics as well.

also action shots. i spend a lot of time running after the dd's with the camera.

i like my current one. its a Nikon Coolpix 2200. it was going so well but is now held togather by tape

For 4 X 6 photos it is fine Soupy, when you go to enlarge the quality might not be there though...I love Cannon Camera's, the Cannon TLQL was my first camera when I was 15 (totally manual).

misdee · 24/10/2006 19:15

canon Ixus 60 anygood?

the Ixus is a good one, yes?

I just bought one for my DD last month, it was the Nikon Coolpix L1. (she loves it)

misdee · 24/10/2006 19:17

the nikon was so easy to use. so easy that the dd's have been using it. hence the sellotape

we have fujifilm F700
seen here

Can't fault it - do did a lot of research as gadgets are his thing, he's pretty cautious and checks reviews etc...

We just our new digital camera delivered today. It's a Panasonic DMC- LX2 but it was £295. It has 10.2mega pixel and a leica lens... DH dd a massive amount of on-line searches, went on digital camera forums (he is now a nerd on this topic )... he shpped until h dropped and that is the result... keen to see what will occupy his nights now !

sunchowder · 24/10/2006 19:19

My DD is 12 and she really likes it alot--we go through batteries like candy though! I love the look of that Cannon EOS 5 D with that huge lens though....only 2600 pounds!

misdee · 24/10/2006 19:22

i havwe high power rechargable. get a good days worth of pics on one charge. unlike the kodax camera and dock which would let us take 6 pics before it died.
