we will be in a hot climate and as DD is a sweaty 21mo old we are wondering whether we should get her one to lay on whilst in car seat & buggy, esp as we will be relying on her buggy for all her daytime naps whilst we are away.

Do you have one? Does it help? And where did you buy one from! can only find em for 30.00 and dont want to get one if they are no good!

Yes, they're fab, esp in hot weather. I'd hate the thought of sitting in a nylon buggy smothered in suncream getting all sweaty. DD (28mths) loves hers, we've had it almost 2yrs and think I paid around £30 from John Lewis. Maybe try ebay??

They also help keep the buggy clean

yes, DD stopped whining and started sleeping when we got one of these for our Maclaren.

thanks amazon, it hadnt even occured to me how much cleaner it would keep the buggy! thats reason enough for me

my son loves his - really comfy. agree about keeping the buggy clean as we took ours out for a while and it looked like a bombsite each trip. They wash really well too. Good for hot and cold weather.
Inherited ours so cant recommend where to buy but good option

(NB if it's going to be sunny as well as hot consider a sunshade thing - the hood extension type eg Protect-a-bub is IME better for a 21mo than the raincover type eg Shade-a-babe.)
