Britax Hi-Liner, do you have one?

Because I have just got one but I'm slightly unsure if I should keep it. My concerns are:

  1. Is it really reclinable or just reclines in order to be in contact with the backrest of the seat?
  1. The head rest, seems like a good idea because it would offer more head support for a sleeping child, but... does your child keeps moving out of the headrest so he could look through the windows?
Is it really comfi?, is it difficult to restrain the child? ( I hate my Britax Renaisance because it takes ages to restrain a wriggly toddler), do you feel like you miss the arms supports?

Would you get a second for your other car, or would you for a different model?

Many thabks, I have been searching the web and can't find any review to help me dlear this doubts.

P.S. My second choice was the Gracco Rally Sport (the more padded one), have you tried this one?

hi, i bought one for my nearly three year old about a month ago and she loves it !. I haven't realy used the recline but i think its just for fitting. I was a little unsure of headrest too but she seams really comfortable and doesn't lean out. I would recommend it as its easy to move from car to car and it comfortable and supportive.
hope that helps

Bagpuss30 · 24/10/2006 12:15

Yes, we have two (one for ds1 and one for dd) and we like them. They came out well in tests I think and the children are more supported in them when they sleep. Both my two prefer it over the Britax Super Cruiser we had before in terms of comfort. HTH.

MerlinsBeard · 24/10/2006 12:18

we love ours. I think the recline is so it fits better on the seats, our car has back seats that recline alittle bit and this fits it really well. DS1 doesn't strain to look out of the window past the headrests and its much better for when he falls asleep in the car! He finds it comfortable so thats what counts. easily removable cpvers too

a word of warning though....the cup and snack holders on the side...have a look in them every so often, we had a horrible smell coming from the carseat and it turns out it was a piece of banana that had been saved for later

Chandra · 24/10/2006 21:12

Thanks for your comments. I will keep it then

LOL at the banana being saved for later

I have 2 - ds1 (5.5) and ds2 (almost 4) are both in one - I have no problems with them. They seem fine and are able to sleep in them if they want to. They have good reviews in Which? too.

popsycal · 24/10/2006 21:13

ampther vote for the hi liner too

PrettyCandles · 24/10/2006 21:14

Ditto the others - a very good seat IMO. We've got around the problem of the food holders, by not letting the children know of their existence!

Gobbledispook · 24/10/2006 21:14

Yeah, mine don't really use the holders either! When they were in the mondeo they couldn't open them cos they were all squashed up. Now they are in the Voyager, they could use them but they've forgotten about them! Hurrah!

Sheraz · 24/10/2006 21:39

We have two for our DS's, you can recline them in front seat aby reclining the actual car seat so kiddy seat goes with it - as long as no air bags of course. but a great fro sleeping really supports heads.

Chandra · 24/10/2006 22:53

Have any of you have used them with an older child?

ive got a nearly six year in one and he loves it, it did very well in the which reports, the graco rally sport did very badly, so badly that i threw mine out and replaced it with the highliner.

Sheraz · 25/10/2006 21:51

6 yr old has used it but now feels he is getting too grown up for it, so will probably take back off for him.

LIZS · 25/10/2006 21:53

didn't think the back came off the Hi Liner ?!

popsycal · 26/10/2006 20:00

it doesnt...

Sheraz · 26/10/2006 20:47

Maybe i haven' got a hi liner then, i'll have to check, sorry for misinformation. Still got placenta brain..

Chandra · 27/10/2006 08:40

I was told at the store that the back was removable with the help of a screwdriver but... I don't think it could be. Now, I finally opened the box to find that the instructions were not there, so I guess I have no way to confirm if it's possible. BTW does anybody know where can I download the instructions from? it is not in the Britax site website.
