any recommendations - long time since I have had to buy one and would like a A rated where possible but anything I need to avoid would be good to know too.

Don't get a hotpoint washing machine - I've just given up on mibne; my mum hated hers; and my friend is calling out the ngineer agin for hers.

I had heard some bad things about Hotpoint a few years ago but thought they might have inproved. We have been using a Bosch which seemed pretty good but money is a little tight so wanted to get the best value for money

Really find it difficult to get excited about household appliances and they feel like a real grudge purchase but am really very pleased with my new tumble drier and would describe that as fab so know what you mean yorkshirelass
