What do you think of it? Whould you reccommend it? For what age group do you think it is suited?

DS got one last christmas - he was 10 then. He absolutely loved it, but tbh it has stayed in its box for the last few months. Probably great for a younger child.

They are REALLY cute, and quite compelling. Frightens our cat, dog likes it though! If we have little visitors we get it out & they LOVE it. It follows lights so you can direct it a bit, otherwise it just randomly scuffles around.

Oh, and only got it as had a £15 voucher!

My dd is about the same age as your son. I'm sure it is quite young for her but she is absolutely desperate for a guinea pig (a real one) but I know that the novelty of feeding/cleaning it out etc would wear off VERY quickly so thought that this might be a bit of a compromise (a bit of a rubbish one), and might even make her think twice about wanting a real one.

it looks weird but cute

They are quite a bit bigger than your average RL guinea pig! My DS loves the IWOOT site & really wanted one and we can't have a RL one as too many other pets!

No substitute if they want a real one. Get a gerbil? (don't smell, easy to care for, not nocturnal so better than hamster etc)

Hmmmm, possibly! Will go research all things gerbils

Thanks for the replies

We've got one & DD got him for Xmas last year just turned 4, she really loves him & can charge him up, feed him with his carrot etc by herself. Can't see it captivating an older child for very long tbh but she'll get another year or so out of him if he lasts. Fallen down the stairs a couple of times, well more dropped as he learned not to walk over the edge pretty quickly.
