Where can I find a PRETTY party dress, size 5 to 6, that is NOT black

After about the age of four all party type dresses for girls seem to be black and sparkly.
I hate it, and they don't appeal to dd1 at all. Where can I find a really lovely dress for her that she can wear at christmas and to parties? Any ideas? TIA!

I don't really want to spend more than £25 btw!

BHS and Adams always came up trumps for DD when she was younger.

Oh bother - was about to suggest this one , but it's too expensive. Was also going to suggest Pumpkin Patch, but couldn't see any dresses on there. Boden?

M&S ? or how about Monsoon ?

lexiemum · 21/10/2006 22:31

there were 3 different ones and not black in the matalan catalogue today

Have you looked at Vertbaudet? I haven't looked this year, but they always seem to have nice little girls clothes, and v reasonable.

I'm finding it really difficult to find anything to suggest - maybe give it a couple of weeks, once Halloween's over, maybe there'll be more Christmas party clothes around?

Pumpkin patch had some lovely pink chiffony, floaty dresses in store today.

Have you tried TK Maax - they had loads of the most divine French style very girly dresses in a month or so ago - all around the £14-£20 pound mark.

John Lewis is another option.

Debenhams usually also has a range of very girlie (not tarty) dresses nearer to Christmas

emkana · 21/10/2006 22:48

Just had a look at Monsoon...just what dd would adore, but they all cost about £45... sigh...

I saw some lovely ones in Tesco

They were so nice and really girly and around £10/15 and they all have 20% off at the mo

anniebear · 22/10/2006 11:16

Or is that too cheap lol

They didn't lok cheap! They were gorgeous

The ones I wanted were £13 satin and sparkly, then 20% off

emkana · 22/10/2006 20:40
