Mac or PC?

Need to get a new computer as my laptop is on its last legs and we've decided to get a PC this time round. I really like Macs but dh not convinced. I do a lot of graphics / photography work so will use it mainly for that. What do people say???

PC please. I have a Mac laptop from work. There are soo many things that I can't do on it. It's driving me nuts. I'm going to borrow the PC laptop soon.

Bagpuss30 · 21/10/2006 22:03

Snap, lulumama .

Would never go back to a PC, ever.

Lio · 21/10/2006 22:04

If I could afford it I would have gone for a Mac.

My apple at work is always crashing. I've told the technician that the next time it happens I'm going to launch it out the window. Only problem is that I don't actually have a window in my office.

Mac. No viruses. Whoo-hooo!!!

(Was beaten into a mac by my teccie-mate - took a while to acclimatise, but lurrve it now!)

we have a mini mac, it's great

ellenrosarieskeepawayvampires · 22/10/2006 16:54

Mac, definitely a Mac

Blondilocks · 22/10/2006 16:59

I have a mac. Some software & games is more expensive than those for the pc, but I think the new ones can run pc stuff too (maybe wrong though).

The look so much funkier than pcs, plus it's great not having to have a tower with the desktop version.

I use a PC at work and have far more problems with that then my Mac.

i love our ibook. never crashed before. we will buy a macbook or mac mini soon.

aDadOnMumsnet · 22/10/2006 17:19

for your needs - mac.

As someone else said, no viruses which is great. However they CAN go wrong, and my own processor did which cost me hundreds. Parts and peripherals are expensive.

Spagblog · 22/10/2006 17:26

I'm wondering about this too. I use my PC mostly for photographs and photoshop, why is a mac so much better? What can it do?

pupuce · 22/10/2006 17:34

We have only had Mac... fab!!!
I use to have PC for work but when I have to spend my money it's a Mac all the way. And you can even have all the dreaded Microsoft products too if you really need them.
iMovies, Iphotos, etc all fab products !

pupuce · 22/10/2006 17:35

Spag - are there any Mac shop near you ? Get a demo....
There is a nice shop in Bluewater.
