Which duvet for 2 year old?

Looking to buy a duvet (150 x 120 cm type) for DS. He's in a junior (cot) bed. What sort of weight / tog duvet is appropriate for him? There seems to be a few 4 or 4.5 tog ones out there and then a leap up to 9 tog. His room is never freezing cold and I suspect that the 9 tog one would spend more time kicked off that actually one, rendering him cold most of the time. Ideas, people? Cheers!

i would opt for the lower tog, you can always add a blanket if he does get cold.

id go for the lower tog if the rooms not too cold

I bought a 9 tog one, and had to swap it for 4.5 which seems more than adequate for my 3yr old ds, I just add a blanket on a cold night but haven't had to yet. I got one on sale as they count as summer duvets so it was a bargain! (Dunelm, I think).

definitely 4.5 tog unless you live in a very cold house... also make sure you buy one for a cotbed as i bought a 9 tog single bed size first time and then had to buy another.

I am afraid I must go against the grain here.
Ds has a 9 tog cot bed duvet, that I bought from E-bay.
It is brilliant.
I looked at lots of 4.5 togs.
Couldn't beleive the difference between them.
Some of them were reasonably thick and seemed comfy.
Others were as thin as tissue paper and wouldn't have kept an ant warm !!!
The 9 togger, is thick, without being too thick and ds absolutely loves it.

Don't think that all 9 toggers are double the thickness, double the weight, double the warmth of all 4.5 toggers, because that isn't necessarily the case.

Sorry to mix you all up !!!

Hey, just bought my dd (almost 3) a duvet from the white company. I didn't know what tog to buy and she told me they suggest a 4.5 until the age of six because of how toddlers regulate body heat. It's actually been perfect for her. Hope that helps.

I was told by 2 advisors in John Lewis to get 4.5tog til they're 6, so we got the microfibre one. Must admit it felt paper thin, but DD 2.4 is definitely warm enough, and we never put the heating on in her room. Can add blanket if it's freezing over winter
