Is a Maxi-Cosi Rodi XP Car Seat (4-12 yrs) supposed to wobble?!

If anyone else has one of these and can spare the time ... have just fitted this new car seat myself and noticed that it's not held fast in place like the 2nd stage junior version is (the 9mths to 4yrs one) and you can wobble it from side to side if you jiggle it ... is this normal or have I fitted it incorrectly do you think? NB. the Comfort Base plate thingy is hooked under the car seat its against and through the other side.

it wont be held in place at all as the weight of the child holds the seat in place. the comfort base gives it an extra bit of secruity i think.

yes .. it is the weight of the child that keeps it in place .. the sides of the seat back do wobble .. but the bottom is a little sturdier because of the thing that goes under the car seat

I felt the same when first put one in .. now I don't think about it at all

Okay - that makes me feel better (less incapable!) - thanks very much

If you are still worried give your local road safety officer a call (find out from County Council) and they will send out a (hopefully) sexy fireman to look at it and make sure it is fitted properly.

sounds completely normal and fine

all these type of car seats will wobble cause they are not held in independantly... the belt holds in the child AND the seat.

That maxicosi seat is one of the safest seats for that age you can use!
