Wondering what sort of things to get, not really interested in the usual plastic tat. She'll only be 4 months at christmas, I don't mind if it's something keepsakey or to grow into...

Still a bit early for a first doll, she has a lovely cuddly soother type toy.

I think books are always a winner. My boys loved the usborne books series 'that's not my... (dog/car/rabbit/dolly)' even as young as six months. You don't say how much you want to spend - a bit more expensive are any of the baby einstein dvds - baby mozart is the first and I have seen babies as young as 6 months get a real kick out of it, and my 3 year old still likes it now. Hope this helps - or I am ALWAYS grateful for picture frames - you can never have enough!

I would be tempted to get a nice book like the original complete Winnie the Pooh. And a beautiful Christmas outfit.

Or a decent developmental toy, Manhattan Toy and Lamaze do some good ranges.....or something like hand and footprint putty stuff?

lockets - I was thinking a charm bracelet. Or a friend suggested just a little piece of jewllery each year - it'd be nice to have a present to give each year as a sentimental 'collection' type thing
