Kitchens lilac, purple and beech with wenge blinds. After a painting session with dd1 and newspaper sticking to it all over it today I think its time to get one!!!

A few in cheapy shop in Finchley, lots and lots in Walthamstow. We've got one with various breads and pastries on!

We have a couple of local fabric/sewing type shops that sell it by the metre. It might be worth trying any that are near you.

I remember someone on here posting a link to a company that did it in all sorts of colours and designs though -you could try searching the archives and see if you can find the link? Sorry I can't be more helpful but I can't remeber any details of the thread.

don't skimp like we did and buy vinyl and not oilcloth. Stains terribly.

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 15/10/2006 16:24

Some funky stuff here .

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 15/10/2006 16:27

And more here and elsewhere on this site. I like the photographic 'fruity' and 'icecream' ones.

melsy · 15/10/2006 16:31

we have mexican oilcloth from vivalafrida for best and some crappy old vinyl for painting/sticking.

robinpud · 15/10/2006 20:46

Have John Lewis sold me vinyl then? It has stained with any tomtao based sauces which is a pain. Would those lovely Cath Kidston ones not stain then.... please say they won't and then I can justify that spotty one...

chocolateshoes · 15/10/2006 20:47

The John Lewis stuff is great & very good value. I have 2 of the same - one that can be kept for in-laws visiting!!!

accessorizequeen · 15/10/2006 20:49

I bought mine off ebay & now I find out I should have bought the oilcloth version! I used the tablecloth co and they were v.good, sent samples the next day. They do some cath kidston designs too. Highly recommend them.

puppydavies · 15/10/2006 20:59

you can tell them apart cos vinyl's completely smooth, but the oilcloth has a definite woven texture to it. our oilcloth's shrugged off everything that's been chucked at it, the vinyl's stained horribly.

melsy · 15/10/2006 21:06

found a design on there I like accessorizequeen , but not big enough. Im a complete ebay novice, how do i order/bid a bigger size????

OP posts:
accessorizequeen · 16/10/2006 11:46

I'd just email the seller and ask them if they can do a bigger size for you - they were v.helpful. Expect they're just cutting off a roll, so a bigger one shouldn't be a problem (although you must have a v.big table as mine was huge!). There should be a contact the seller link next to the item?

Kittypickle · 16/10/2006 11:51

Oh I so need this thread ! This is why my tablecloth stains badly, it must be vinyl - I just couldn't work out why my friend's one is fine and mine isn't. So do the Cath Kidston ones definitely repel everything chucked at them ?

TutterIckOrTreat · 16/10/2006 11:54

i got mine here on ebay

TutterIckOrTreat · 16/10/2006 11:55
