Bl**dy Gap don't have their linen trousers this year

I lived in them last year, good value and so comfortable. They don't seem to have them this year Can anyone tell me otherwise?

Have tried other makes but only like Nicole Farhi, all the others seem too prickly (have eczema) and I can't wear them. NF nice but the linen is so thin and they fade much faster than the Gap ones and are 3x the price.

These .

They claim a third colour but have no picture.

Janh · 19/04/2004 14:50

Safety pins? (I do all my mending with those. Very classy.)

bossykate · 19/04/2004 14:50

so you all think i will look utterly huge in my white ones then?

CountessDracula · 19/04/2004 14:51

soupy you may end up looking like Ricky Gervais in the Office xmas special - when he did his video for If you don't know me by now....

Always hate white linen trousers - the problem with knickers cannot be solved entirely in my opinion!!

DO you thnk it would be a good idea to order vests from LTS for summer to cover my bump??

Janh · 19/04/2004 14:57

LTS for the length over the bump, do you mean, Twinkie? Or are you a v tall person too?

bossykate · 19/04/2004 15:01

i think they look really elegant... i do look huge in them, so what? i look like a whale in everything atm!

Twinkie · 19/04/2004 15:03

Yep - I know whatever I wear it is going to be higher at the front that the back but I hate to see naked bumps!!

I am not exceptionally tall - have long body and long legs so things don't meet in the middle but I am only 5 foot 8ish!!

CountessDracula · 19/04/2004 15:04

Pg people have exemption from normal fashion laws IMO

Oh, well, yes, then - the Tall Zone stuff (some of it!) is lovely. And their sizing is generous. (You are v lucky being 5'8, my ideal height.)

(Mind you I think pg bumps look cute sticking out between vests and low cut trousers! But it's your bump so you do whatever you want with it )

Codswallop · 21/04/2004 11:30

aha! next have them in fro only £19 99

and theya re pretty soft!

bundle · 21/04/2004 11:36

the M&S ones do look good, I have some vouchers from my birthday, so may treat myself

oliveoil · 21/04/2004 11:36

French Connection have nice linen pants but I am too pregnant to fit at the mo.

Twinkie - M&S vests are long to cover bumps, I don't like seeing them either, bit Spice girl/Jordon for my liking.

Codswallop · 21/04/2004 11:37

ooh I hate bumps out! even my own made me nuseous

motherinferior · 21/04/2004 11:39

Oh, I like them. Much nicer than swaddling them in masses of drapey fabric. Even though I felt huge and fat with my own. Which in fact ended up being out, as it was hot and all my vests retreated to being cropped tops over it!

oliveoil · 21/04/2004 11:46

MI - my vests did that and I hadn't realised that they were nestled under my bra until I had walked the whole street, arrrrghhhhhhhh. Have learnt to pull down at regular intervals now.

GenT · 22/04/2004 20:11

Hi CD, made it back and my condolences, pssst, I can sew,. Should I find some swatches???

hi as well Janh, taking sometime to read, I'm tired

Janh · 22/04/2004 20:39

I bet, you've been gone about 2 months! Some catching up!

hoxtonchick · 23/04/2004 22:26

CD, I lived in my Gap linen trousers last year too. Luckily the brown ones have survived. I checked out the ones in M & S today & they look pretty similar, though with a zip at the front. Soft linen though. Also managed to purchase a really nice white linen shirt/tunic thing. Whoops....

Janh · 23/04/2004 22:33

I have beige M & S ones from last year, zip front + tie, they are lovely and quite soft but not really long enough for me (have to wear them with crotch at halfmast but as they are so baggy it doesn't really matter.

Need ironing though.

hoxtonchick · 23/04/2004 22:33

here

binkie · 30/07/2004 16:27

Been remembering this - if anyone's still searching, look at whitestuff trousers - I have just bought the 3/4 ones (which look so unshapely in the catalogue) and they are gorgeous and wonderfully neat around hips.

Their sale starts in two weeks, so I'm told.
